The Institute of International Relations sincerely invites you to the opening of a new research centre „Centre for Energy Policy“ at 13:00.
Lukáš Tichý, senior researcher, together with his colleagues will introduce the new Centre for Energy Policy (CEP). The primary goal of the CEP will be to monitor and analyse internal dimension of energy policy and EU security in relation to present and potential suppliers in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA), subsaharan Africa and selected states from Asia, North America and Latin America. In terms of these relations, the CEP will also focus on identifying key questions of energy security, which contribute or block further cooperation. More information about the CEP will be published on the IIR website.
The new book by Lukáš Tichý et al.: „Terrorism and energy security in the Middle East and North Africa, the consequences for CZ and EU“ will be introduced as a part of the opening. The book concerns itself with energy terrorism and how various terrorist groups use it as a mean of intimidation or blackmail. In the future, an attack on the European energy security cannot be ruled out and the conseqences of this threat are analysed in Tichý's book.
The event will be held in Czech.
