The Prague Centre for Transatlantic Relations of the CEVRO Institute (PCTR) in cooperation with Hanns Seidel Stiftung invites you to a public lecture „European Germany, or German Europe?”, which will take place on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the atrium of the CEVRO Institute (Jungmannova 17, Prague 1).
The keynote speaker will be Mr. Roland Tichy, a German publisher, journalist, political commentator and the CEO of Ludwig Erhard Foundation. Mr. Tichy, the former advisor of chancellor Kohl, editor-in-chief of Wirtschaftswoche and moderator of the RTL´s Big Boss reality show, is noticeable as a publisher of the online monthly Tichys Einblick, which is ruthlessly rocking the boat of German mainstream media discourse with its all-embracing political correctness. He was awarded by Friedrich August von Hayek Foundation for his liberal economic ideas and is a member of the Mont Pelerin Society.
Mrs. Aleksandra Rybińska, a noticeable Polish journalist, will be our second speaker. A daughter of the famous Polish sport journalist had emigrated to the West as a child, studied Sorbonne and Scinces-Po in Paris and moved to Germany as a journalist. Now she lives in Warsaw and writes for online magazine wPolityce and wSieci weekly. She captured a lot of attention with her criticism of Chancellor Markel´s policy in German TV shows during the migration crisis of 2015.
The event will be opened by Alexandr Vondra and moderated by Daniel Kaiser from Echo Weekly.
The working language is German language, the interpretation will be provided. Due to the organizational matters, we kindly ask you to confirm your participation no later than by May 24, 2017.
