A lecture by Petr Chalupecký, the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to NATO, in which he examines the challenges facing the transatlantic alliance ahead of the Cardiff Summit.
Countering the threat of Russia’s rising assertiveness in the context of Ukraine crisis has greatly altered the narrative of the upcoming NATO’s Wales Summit this September. Has the NATO’s response been proportionate to the threat or do we advocate business-as-usual? Recent events have provided a strong reminder of the importance of collective defence. Just as NATO adjusted its focus after the Balkan conflict and 9/11, the current state of play calls for similar action.
Mr. Chalupecky gave his lecture at the 10th annual NATO Summer School, organized by the Prague Security Studies Institute in Merin, Czech Republic. To learn more about PSSI's summer school, plese go to their website here.
