SUSCO Budapest 2015

Sustainable Development Conference

Hungary has been co-chairing the United Nations Open Working Group on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) since March 2013. With this position, Hungary was given a great responsibility and opportunity to become one of the pioneers in the paradigm shift toward sustainability.

By taking advantage of its proficiency and highlighted role in the SDGs process, Hungary can significantly increase its prestige and long-term competitiveness. Continuing on the path of the Budapest Water Summit 2013, the SUSCO Budapest, an international conference series on sustainable development (SD), aims to position Hungary as one of the regional pioneers of shaping and adapting regulations, as well as taking advantage of innovation related to sustainability.

Thus, the Antall József Knowledge Centre (AJKC) is organising the SUSCO Budapest 2015 on 8 October 2015, which is to be supported by an expo and other related events.

The aim of SUSCO Budapest is to establish an SD network in the Central-Eastern European (CEE) region in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. The network provides attendees with the possibility of discussing the challenges and best practices of the region, exchanging experience, and seeking common solutions for SD.  SUSCO fosters the dialogue between the governmental, private, and scientific sectors, as well as the civil society of the region.
